Chemical Safety and Health Awareness Course
Overview
This course is designed to provide awareness among workers in industries on various hazards of chemicals and their safe handling.
Course Objective:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to be familiar with:
- Various legislative requirements related to safe chemical handling
- Appropriate knowledge of hazards and dangers of working with chemicals
- Information contained in material safety data sheets
- Hazard signs and safety precautions when working with some typical chemical substances
Who should attend
People who have the potential to be exposed to chemicals in the workplace
Course Details
Time: 9am – 5pm
Duration: 8 hours
Participants
Class will commence with a minimum of 5 pax, and a maximum of 10pax per course
Course Outline
- Latest WSH Act and legal requirements
- Identifying hazardous substances
- Risk Assessment principles
- Overview of risks associated with chemical use
- Material Safety Data Sheets
- Overview of Personnel Protection Equipment
- Safe work practices for chemical handling, transporting, storage and disposal
- Chemical emergency response procedures
Assessment
There will be no assessment
Certification
